ERP : Personal Narrative

2.b) Recall a time your parent brought you to a place that holds a lot of memories.Describe how it felt then and its impact on you now
Everytime I see my huge, green army jacket, I always remember Melbourne, the only part of Australia that I have visited.I had just finished my third year of junior high school and the long school holiday was coming. We were going to Melbourne for holiday and my parents had planned this trip long before this.At that time, Melbourne was in a winter season and the weather was much colder than Bandung, my hometown .So, one of our preparation for this trip was to buy winter cloths and I chose to buy a huge, green army jacket.
After we have finished packing our stuffs, we went to Soekarno-Hatta International Airport at Jakarta.I was very excited when our plane Have taken off from the airport. It took about five hours to reach Melbourne.I felt tired after the long flight, sitting for too long made my legs felt numb and the my head felt a bit dizzy. However, the beauty of Melbourne removed all those pains from me in an instant. The airport was huge and luxurious. It was my first time to see this kind of airport. The area was huge, the floor was covered by a soft carpet and all of the signs were put in place tidily.
We proceed to the baggage claim and put our luggage in the X – Ray.Suddenly, the security person held us and asked us to open our luggage.I was shocked, we have travelled to a few different countries before and not even once we were asked to open our luggage. He checked our luggage thoroughly and confiscated a pack of chocolate. We were allowed to go and I felt a slight relief that it was just a pack of chocolate.
We took a taxy and went to our hotel. As I was tired from the flight,I went to deep slumber quickly. The next day, we began our exploration of Melbourne. Melbourne was very beautiful. It is a mixture of modern city with an untouched, antique buildings from the past. One of this buildings was The Cathedral.I felt like I was in a scene of “Da Vinci Code’ film, when I was in this grandiose church. One thing that was new for me from Melbourne was its people.Australia consists of mostly “westerner” and this was very different with my country, which consists of mostly Malay and Chinese.
Sadly, one week was clearly not enough to visit all corners of Melbourne. All about Melbourne was adorable. The perfect English of its people which I found it quite difficult to understand sometimes, the heart-soothing green parks and the attractive beauty of blonde haired women. It was an amazing experience to be in Melbourne and I will not think twice if I was offered to go there again.
